Pallet racking is the structural backbone of almost every warehouse. The right system depends far less on the racking itself than on three things: how many different SKUs you hold, how many pallets you hold of each, and whether stock has to rotate first-in-first-out.

| Drive-In / Drive-Through Racking | Low SKU count, high pallets per SKU | Forklift drives into the lane. Highest density of the static systems. Drive-in is LIFO, drive-through is FIFO. |
| Push Back Pallet Racking | Low to medium SKU count, LIFO acceptable | Pallets on nested carts push back along inclined rails. Dense, and picked from a single aisle face. |
| Pallet Live Storage Racking | Strict FIFO stock rotation | Gravity roller lanes load at one end and pick at the other. Suited to dated stock and food or pharma rotation. |
| Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking | Existing footprint, need more positions | Selective layout with reduced aisles, served by a narrow aisle or articulated truck. |
